Andrew Phipps

Andrew is a graduate from Texas A&M University in 2020 and is an aspiring NBA Scout. His work at Texas A&M included scouting for Texas Premier Baseball as well as the hands on experience he got with the Texas A&M Basketball team. As an avid basketball fan since a young age, he has always dreamed of working within the sport that has brought him so much joy. He has covered events for Prep Hoops all across the country. Andrew Loughmiller

Andrew started writing for Prep Hoops and Prep Girls Hoops in August of 2019 with the goal of furthering his writing experience. He graduated from Plano West Senior High School in 2015 and was a member of the football team. Although he did not play basketball in high school, he did get to witness Plano West win the 6A Texas State Championship his senior year while closely following the team. Andrew went on to attended Texas A&M University where he majored in sport management and minored in business administration. He graduated with honors in 2019. During his college years, Andrew wrote for numerous fan sites while also interning at TexAgs where he covered Texas A&M softball, filmed and recorded interviews for both the men’s and women’s basketball teams, and helped with the production of the morning radio show. I am a former chemical engineer who is now pursuing my passion in the business of basketball. Along with my scouting work with Prep Hoops Texas, I am a data analyst for the University of Houston Division I men's basketball team and was one of 61 students selected to attend the 2021 Sports Business Classroom at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. My goal is to obtain a full-time position in the scouting or operations departments with an NBA team.
