Tavin Lovan (2018) Impresses on Under Armour Circuit
Tavin Lovan, the 6’4 guard from Franklin-Simpson High School who has reclassified to the 2018 class and will attend Hargrave Military Academy next year, has seemingly continued to improve his stock while playing with the Under Armour Association circuit’s Team Thad out of Memphis, TN. Lovan has helped lead Team Thad to 13-3 overall record through early July. The Division 1 is averaging 12 points (second most on team) and 5 rebounds per game while shooting over 60% from the field. He’s also leads Team Thad in steals.
Tavin has also been the subject of highlight dunk after highlight dunk on social media during the July live period.
During his Franklin-Simpson senior campaign, Lovan helped lead the Wildcats to a 26-7 overall record and a 13th District tournament championship. He averaged 26.3 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 58% from the field (35% from 3-pt range).
Lovan is a strong, athletic wing who can jump out of the jump. He causes issues for defenders by using his body to bully himself around them for scoring opportunities at the rim. He is capable of knocking down shots from 3-pt range, but is an area that if improved on, could make him a high-major prospect after his time at Hargrave is complete.
Lovan currently holds offers from Middle Tennessee State, Bradley, Central Connecticut State, Murray State, SEMO, Western Kentucky, and Winthrop.
