Josh Sipes is a Jack of All Trades headed to Mary
Josh Sipes is leading Bismarck Century in scoring and rebounding seven games into the season and caught up with PHD today.
“I think as a team we’ve learned that we don’t just have “one guy” to put up points,” Sipes said. “We move the ball and take open shots when they come. I also think we’ve learned that every game is going to be a battle, you can’t take nights off because every team is going to fight you tooth and nail.”
Century is a balanced team with double figure scoring coming from Sipes, Kade Amundson, Trey Mattern, and Kade Lynch. They’ve lost one score games to Mandan and Bismarck but crushed Minot and are ready for the heart of the season.
“Some big challenges we have coming up are playing some tough road games, it doesn’t matter what team, road games are always a grind it out type of game.” Josh said.
“I think our team as a whole wants to maximize our potential and be the best we can be,” Sipes said. “And that’s my goal as well, I want to be the best player I can be and do whatever it takes to win games.”
Josh is putting up 14.6 points and 7.4 rebounds a game making half of his 22 threes. Sipes will bring his versatile and hard working game to the University of Mary next year. The Marauders are currently 2-10 but working hard ready for Sipes to join next season.
“I really like how they come out and battle every night, they don’t back down from anyone and that’s something that you can’t teach, they just have a group of guys that work their butts off every game,” Sipes said of his future team.
