Jake Barnes completed his eighth season as a top assistant coach at George Rogers Clark High School in 2016. During his tenure, Jake was an integral part of back-to-back 10th Region titles from 2011-2012, which included back-to-back 30 plus win seasons and six (6) consecutive 40th District titles from 2007 to 2012. While at GRC, his collection of responsibilities included on court coaching, scouting, player development, video breakdown, plus strength and conditioning to name a few. His player development efforts accounted for multiple student-athletes playing at the next level including Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA and Junior College level.
During the summers, Jake has been active working basketball camps, namely DeMarcus Cousins Elite Skills Camp, University of Kentucky, Nike Pre-Draft Camp, and Kentucky Basketball Academy High Exposure and JR Phenom events. In the summer of 2016, he spent time at IMPACT basketball in Las Vegas. Additionally, Jake is a National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) member, IMPACT Basketball Player Development Certified coach and USA Basketball Youth Licensed coach.
