Prep Hoops Circuit Update (June 4th)

First, I want to start by thanking you for your patience and trust as our team has navigated the unforeseen and unprecedented circumstances brought on by Covid-19. The past two months have jolted plans for close to 6,000 teams and between 50,000 and 60,000 families attending Prep Hoops and Prep Girls Hoops tournaments across the country. I truly appreciate you hanging with us as we have worked through the best course of action to get teams safely back on the court.

When we launched the Prep Hoops Circuit in 2019, we saw a distinct void in the grassroots basketball market. Independent programs were looking for the same experience of the Nike, Adidas, and Under Armor circuits, but they wanted the cost effectiveness and flexibility required to operate a non-sponsored program. In order to pull this off, we secured partnerships with the world’s largest independent apparel provider in Eastbay, cultivated relationships with many of America’s top facilities, built a content strategy that would be unique to any event operator in the market, and created a concept for programs to feel like they were fighting for something every single weekend.

As excited as we are about our trajectory, we believe that we need to honor the mission that drove us to introduce The Prep Hoops Circuit in the first place. In a time where budgets, flexibility, comfort, safety, and efficiency all come at a premium, we feel that programs will be best served if we provide the same coverage, facilities, operations, and overall experience that you’ve grown accustomed to, without any obligations, and forego the Circuit concept for this year.

With that, below you will find our updated 2020 tournament schedule:

Coverage & Streaming

As many of you know by now, NCAA schools have been banned from attending events until at least July 31st. In order to combat this, we have inked a deal with America’s leading grassroots sports streaming service, BallerTV, to stream every game across our entire schedule.

Additionally, our staff of scouts and videographers will be traveling to events like we always have, to provide the same visibility that you’ve grown accustomed to.

Attendance and Registration

In order to ensure that events will definitely run, we made the decision to not use any high schools or universities for venues. For that reason, events will be limited between 50 and 180 teams depending on venue availability in each market. These will sell out extremely quickly. If you plan to attend an event, you will want to register your team(s) immediately.

For programs who already have a deposit down for a Prep Hoops Circuit Region Final, you can simply roll that over to an event of your choice. The same applies for event fees that have already been paid.

Our team will reach out individually to all programs who currently have balances to be applied to events.

Registration can be completed in one of three ways:

  1. Complete entire registration at the link above
  2. Complete registration and request an invoice from
  3. Complete registration and mail check to Prep Hoops
    • 6901 East Fish Lake Road, Suite 188, Maple Grove MN 55369

Additionally, spectator tickets will be limited and will be available for pre-sale only. Tickets are limited to 15 spectator tickets as well as two coaches passes per team. A link to purchase tickets will be made available to each team upon completed registration.

Safety Protocol

In an attempt to make events as safe as possible, we have taken the following measures to ensure a healthy experience at our events:
