Brian Swindlehurst
Brian Swindlehurst brings a wealth of basketball knowledge to Prep Hoops Utah. Currently a coach at Salt Lake Community College, Brian played a pivotal role in the Bruins' National Championship run in 2016. His role includes academic advising, assisting with recruiting, opponent scouting, game planning, and individual skill training. Previously, Brian served as the Director of Basketball Operations, varsity assistant coach, and freshman head coach for Santa Margarita Catholic High School in Southern California, a high-level private school competing in one of the top high school leagues in the country called the Trinity League. In 2014, he contributed to the varsity team winning a CIF championship in California Division 3AA. Prior to coaching in California, Coach Swindlehurst spent six years as an assistant coach for the varsity boys basketball team at Timpview High School in Provo. He assisted the team that won the Utah state 4A championship in 2010. In addition to his duties with the varsity team, he was the head coach for various other teams during his time there (most recently the JV team). As a player, Brian played at Timpview High School from 1999-2002. He was named Utah Valley's Most Valuable Player in 2002 and earned First Team All-State and Academic All-State awards. In 2009, Brian graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.A. in Business Management emphasizing in Entrepreneurship.
