For two years now the small but supremely effective combo guard has been torching opposing defenses with his offensive prowess. As a freshman he averaged 15 points per game, last season he upped that average to 20.1. If the trend continues he could be not only the conference’s leading scorers, but one of the state’s top scorers.
First Team
2018 Joe Weber, 5’8 PG, Boyer Valley (20.1 PPG, 41 3FG%, 4.2 APG, 2.0 SPG)
Weber could approach 25 points per game this season – pound-for-pound one of Iowa’s best guards.
2017 Derek Schurke, 5’8 G, AR-WE-VA (14.8 PPG, 2.3 SPG, 5.0 RPG)
The floor general of the conference’s most talented team, Schurke and the Rockets are realistically thinking state this season.
2018 Thomas Hensley, 5’9 G, CAM, Anita (19.1 PPG, 40 3FG%, 4.0 SPG)
Terrific scorer, who shoots the deep-ball as good as anyone in the conference, and he’s uncanny of defense too.
2017 Colton Sargent, 6’7 C, Adair-Casey (13.3 PPG, 3.1 BPG, 6.7 RPG)
He’s been a key player for the Bombers since his freshman season, and with his great shot-blocking could be the most dominant big-man in the conference this season.
2018 Nicholas Holste, F, CAM, Anita (16.4 PPG, 1.9 BPG, 5.9 RPG)
The versatile forward could average north of 20 points per game this season, and he gets it done on the defensive end too.
Second Team
2017 Alex Kock, 6’4 F, AR-WE-VA
2018 Jalen Malone, 6’2 F, Boyer Valley
2019 Ben Obert, 6’3 G/F, Coon Rapids-Bayard
