With some of the top talent in the state opting to play with teams from other states, other players were allowed to move into the spotlight and showcase their abilities on the national stage. Here is how everything shook out in the end.
- Phoenix Phamily: When you have such high end talent as Marvin Bagley III and Cody Riley, you’re really playing on a different field of play. Though they rarely participated in the same events as the other teams on this list, they clearly possess the ability to reach the highest heights.
- Factory 17u: Led by Stock riser of the year Malik Ondigo, and Dre Marin, this Factory squad had good showings on the national level this summer and picked up an impressive amount of college offers along the way.
- Power Elite 17u: Solid team from top to bottom, led by Gabe McGlothan, competed well, though they struggled to close out games. Potentially the best collection of talent 1-10 on this list, excluding Phamily.
- Powerhouse Black 17u: Strong guard play with Saben Lee and Noah Baumann, but struggled when Lee was not in uniform. Lee committed to Vanderbilt, and Baumann to San Jose State.
- Power North 17u: Jake Hess was big for this team, both literally and figuratively, as the 6’9” forward used his versatility to cause matchup problems.
- Powerhouse Red 17u: Team was led by Mason Stark, but had important contributions from Morningstar Takapu, Habib Arogundade, and others.
- AZU 17u: Geoff Hibbitt and Cody Carmichael showed that they will be a duo to look out for at Ironwood this season.
- Team Zona: Small guards can often struggle in the club season, especially against older competition, but Maricopa’s Joshuwan Johnson is a lightning quick guard who is fearless and can both score and create for teammates.
- AZ Firestorm 17u: A new organization, they showed some promise moving forward, as they had some level of success.
- AZ Sting 17u: Team was led by Tyson Union and Isaiah Alonzo.
