Kendrick Tucker | 6’2” CG | WV Wildcats 17U
Tucker, who will be taking a prep year at Massanutten Academy next season, was the best player on the floor for a WV Wildcats team with two high major post products in 2018 Florent Thamba and 2019 Oscar Tshiewebe. The combo guard scored it well from all three levels, played within the system, shot it efficiently and controlled the pace for the majority of the game. He finished with 29 points in a first round win over Flight 22 Elite
Kiran Durant | 6’2” G | Team Loaded 757 Red 17U
Durant came into Myrtle Beach with very little buzz surrounding him, but that changed quickly as he led Team Loaded 757 Astrop to two blow out victories with games of 21 and 16 points. The combo guard has a game that can be described as “smooth,” as he can score it all over the floor and make it look easy while he does it. He changes pace well, can score at all three levels and displays a killer mentality when he gets it going.
Jared Letreill | 6’2” F | Spectrum 15U
The sharp shooting wing out of North Cross in Roanoke put on a shooting display despite losing in their second round matchup. LeTreill finished with a team high 16 points, hitting four from deep and opening lanes for their driving guards. He has good size and is still growing, and with an already lethal stroke he can only get better moving forward.
Jackson Gammons | 6’1” PG | Team Felton 15U
Another smooth guard that can really go, Gammons displayed poise well beyond his years when running the show. Gammons has great size for his age at the point guard position, and he’s able to make plays when everything around him breaks down. He’s never rattled, displays in the gym range and displays winning intangibles down the stretch.
Sarju Patel | 6’4” WF | Spectrum 17U
We talked about the impact he’d have coming back to Spectrum, and it didn’t take long for him to make his mark either. The 6’4” wing finished with 13 points in a Spectrum first round win, displaying a lethal midrange game and good understanding of how to get to his spots and get his shots off. The 4.6 student announced that he will be attending Hargrave for a post grad year.
Ian Dubose | 6’4” WG | WCBA Elite 17U
Dubose was about as unguardable as any player we saw in WCBA’s first round win against River City Reign. The 6’4” two guard was relentless attacking off the wing, as he used his size and strong upper body to bully his way to the basket and finish through contact at the rim. He finished with 15 points, almost all of which were surely in the lane, and he has to be an Ivy League target with a GPA on the plus side of 4.0.
Tyrek Williams | 6’7” PF | River City Reign 16U
Coaches have been telling us he’s one to watch now that he’s back from injury, and Williams is continuing to show that he’s going to be a force to reckon with. He showed good patience in the post, waiting for cutters to clear and using the pump fake to get defenders off their feet. He can score with either hand, rebounds the ball, and best of all he’s good for at least a couple charges taken a game. He’s under the radar now, but that will change here soon if he keeps playing this way.
