Woods has grown from 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-1 in the past year, and the Saginaw point guard says when it comes to his recruitment, it’s just a matter of being patient.
“I received phone calls last year, but I haven’t received any this year. Last year I talked with Ferris State for a while, and I went to their exposure camp. And I went to Grand Valley State too,” said Woods.
“I think it’s just finding a true school that wants my style of play, and really wants what I have to give, and a school that fits me. And I have not yet found the right one yet, and they have not found me yet. So I’m just waiting on that.”
Woods will again be playing with Saginaw-based program Tri City Heat this summer for his final July on the grassroots circuit.
“I think that my July will be really good. We played well this spring, and individually I played well. We had a few colleges there watching us, so I think there will be some watching me closely this summer, I’m thinking,” said Woods.
Priding himself on being a two-way player, who is a fiery competitor and leader, Woods went on to define his game to PHM in his own words.
“I’m very fast and I like to run, shoot, and drive. I like to get into the lane and find players to score. My strengths are shooting, and I think that I’m a very vocal player. I play fast and strong, and I’m very intense,” said Woods, who explained what his goals are for the summer. ”
“The spring went well, I was the leading scorer for the team. My goals for the summer are to win a lot, play well for myself, and to get a full-ride scholarship.”
