Their top performer was Trey Checkett (Chaparral HS) At 6’5″ he played PG and handled the ball well and shot lights out from 3. Coach John Jensen got a call from the Naval Academy on Monday expressing serious interest in Trey! They liked his 3.9 grade point, court leadership, ball handling & shooting ability. His stock is rising quickly
JT Thoman (Chaparral HS) is always the strongest kid on the court and it showed all weekend. He got to the basket easily and always is a consistent 3pt threat.
Jake Hess (Horizon HS) is a force inside as he always rebounds well and blocks shots. He has quick feet that led to several steals guarding post players and he turned some into easy dunks with his 39″ vertical.
Jalen Foster (Chaparral HS) shot the 3 ball at a high percentage as well as plays great defense, blocks shots, rebounds well, serious handles and has a nose for the loose ball! This is a kid is a sleeper and does everything a coach could ask for!
Kai Fletcher (Chaparral HS) was their surprise performer of the day of AZ prospects on Friday night. Kai rebounds well, plays great D with steals that turned into dunks, shoots well from 3 along with mid range, and just flat out hustles every play! He is also a high academic with a 4.1! Cameron Smith out of Impact LV came to play. He is so athletic that he was hard to stop going to the hole, rebounded well and can hit the 3.
Lastly Nick Morris of Cesar Chavez played at a high level. At 6’3″ he out rebounds everyone, is a strong defender and has a nice mid range touch.
Phoenix College bound Josh Wenneborg (Horizon HS) is their blue collar guy that just gets after it. He get so many boards and has improved so much to finish with ease around the basket.
