Curtis Haywood II 2016 Mustang Shooting Guard
Haywood picked up an offer from Mercer recently. The Bears Head Coach Bob Hoffman flew in and visited Haywood this past week. As of now Haywood’s only Division I offer on the table is Mercer, but that could change. Several schools are still in talks with Haywood. With that said don’t be surprised if Mercer is Haywood’s landing spot. He would be a great addition to Mercer’s class, which already includes Lawton Ike Combo Guard Darius Roy.
Marcus Dickinson 2016 Norman North Point Guard
Dickinson is one of the most talented guards in Oklahoma, but as of now he does not hold a Division I offer. Prep School and JUCO could both be options for Dickinson. But keep an eye on Nebraska who could come in late on Dickinson. He told Prep Hoops he plans to take a visit to Nebraska within the next week. Dickinson proved over his career his ability to be a difference maker on the floor.
Tre Evans 2016 Edmond North Point Guard
Evans a one time Oklahoma State commit then Old Dominion signee has opted out of his NLI with ODU. He is now free to go to any school outside of Conference USA and Tulsa. With that said it is just a one year ban on those programs. Evans as of now looks to go the Prep School or JUCO route for one season. At that point he would have the ability to go wherever he wanted. Keep an eye on Evans who could have a school come in on him late. As of now my guess is he is Prep School bound.
Marquis Johnson 2016 Putnam City West Point Guard
Johnson had a stellar season for Putnam City West leading the Patriots to the Class 6A Gold Ball. He will visit Western Kentucky this month. Following his visit Johnson will make a decision. Johnson is undersized, but makes up for it with his vision, shooting ability, and toughness. One of the best attributes I love about Johnson is he is coachable.
Micah Speight 2016 Putnam City North Point Guard
Speight had a great year for Putnam City North landing himself a Division I offer along the way. However, Speight appears to be Prep School or JUCO bound. Speight has visited Sunrise Christian and plans to visit Heston JUCO today. Several Division II programs have recruited Speight hard, but I think Speight ends up at a JUCO when the dust settles. Don’t loose track of Speight who could turn into a great JUCO prospect in two years.
TJ Washington 2016 Jenks Point Guard
Washington has elected to opt out of his NLI with IUPUI and reclassify to Prep School for a year. The Prep School for Washington has not been decided, but he has picked an AAU team for the Spring and Summer. Washington will play with Kansas Pray and Play on the Adidas Uprising Circuit. Keep an eye out for Washington this summer.
Todd Dawkins 2016 McAlester Wing
Dawkins holds offers from Southeastern Oklahoma State and Northeastern State. Expect it to come down to those two schools this week. Dawkins could make an announcement very soon. Prep Hoops will continue to update you on Dawkins decision.
Tyler Williams 2016 Edmond Santa Fe Combo Guard
Williams picked up an offer from Northeastern State this week. One day later Williams decided the RiverHawks were the right fit for him. Williams will join the RiverHawks squad and face the stout MIAA.
York Benjamin 2016 Mustang Power Forward
Benjamin looks to be JUCO bound, but don’t sleep on him. After some work at a JUCO Benjamin could turn into an outstanding piece for a Division I program in two years. The athleticism, hustle and toughness Benjamin brings to the court make him an intriguing prospect to watch.
Khobe Austin-Johnson 2016 Booker T. Washington Shooting Guard
Austin-Johnson is one of the most underrated prospects remaining in the 2016 Class. This week Austin-Johnson picked up an offer from Northeastern State University. Don’t be surprised if Austin-Johnson ends up a RiverHawk.
Richard Anderson 2016 Midwest City Combo Guard
Anderson has not made a final decision, but it appears he will likely take the JUCO route. Seminole State leads the way for Anderson. Anderson had a great career at Midwest City doing what ever was asked of him. Anderson is very young and could turn into a really good JUCO prospect in a couple of years. Remember the name Richard Anderson.
Ike Leggins 2016 Putnam City West Forward
Leggins is undersized in the paint, but he proved this season he can play with the best of them in the paint. One thing that continues to go unnoticed about Leggins is his ball handling skills. With some work Leggins could transition positions at some point in his college career. He is a very hard worker, coachable and consistent in the paint. UCO offered Leggins this week. He also holds a couple of JUCO offers as well.
