Overall, it was a memorable year for their standout Drew Thielges who capped an impressive career.
“My senior season was a lot of fun,” Drew told PHD. “I made a lot of memories and played with some of my best friends. The thing I will remember most about my senior season is how much my teammates trusted me to lead.”
Instead of just being one of the state’s best shooters Thielges expanded his game and played an important all around role
“My first few years of varsity basketball I was mostly known for my outside shooting, but this year I tried to become more of a driver on offense and get my teammates more involved. For college, I have to improve on my defense and become a more consistent shooter.”
Now Drew is trying to figure out what he is going to do for college basketball which will likely lead him to the NSIC as a walk-on or to the junior college D1 level of play.
“Northern State, Minot State, and University of Sioux Falls have indicated that they would take me on as a walk on player,” Drew said. “I plan on visiting Lake Region State in the next month.”
