The Apple Valley Eagles lost to Hopkins in the AAAA semifinals and went on to beat Osseo in the 3rd place game. It was there where Cam got a nice stat line for his final game, shooting 11-of-17 for 26 points and grabbing eight rebounds.
But the 6-foot-7 Apple Valley forward has a lot of college ball to look forward to, if he chooses. He’s a very long forward who is right on that D1/D2 fringe; Furman has offered at the top level, plus MSU-Mankato, MSU-Moorhead and Augustana of the D2 NSIC, according to him. Winona is very interested as well, and he has visited there twice. Dakota D1s were also rumored to be watching during the state tournament.
The NSIC schools mentioned are four of the top five schools in terms of conference record, and several have made national tournament runs or championships.
“I’m not sure when I’ll decide yet,” Kirksey said. “(I’m) visiting Mankato next weekend.”
