He was a triple-double threat his whole career, and did not slow down a bit against the state’s best competition.
Travis Miller, St. Albert
Miller was the best player on 1A’s runner-up team, and he got it done on both ends of the floor for the Falcons. His team-high 16.7 points per game was great, but his 3 steals per game really nudged St. Albert in the right direction. He’s due for a major bump in the last installment of 2016 rankings.
Carter Milam, Pleasant Valley
The Grand View commit nearly averaged a double-double for the third-place Spartans last week. He was instrumental in a quarterfinal win going for 12 points and 12 rebounds, and he finished his three game week with averages of 9 points and 10.7 rebounds per game.
TJ Hockenson, Chariton
His outstanding high school career came to an end last week, but he didn’t go down without a fight. Hockenson will play football at Iowa next season, he’ll be a tight end. But his hoops skills were on full display in three games last week, he averaged 19.3 points, and 9 rebounds, plus a block and steal per game.
Will Warner, Pella
Pella’s ubiquitous guard was outstanding in the Dutch’s third-place run at the tournament. And the multi-sport star is one of the state’s best athletes. He was MVP of Pella’s quarterfinal win over Perry going for 10 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds. He finished the week with averages of 14 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds, and a steal.
