Adidas Three Stripes: Thursday Night Standouts
Prep Hoops Missouri will be spending the weekend at the Adidas Three Stripes Alliance at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO. Here is a look at some of the standouts from Day 1 on Thursday:
Nicholas Kern 6’4″ Gateway 15U
A talented 2021 wing player from Vashon who has excellent size and length, plus a versatile one-on-one skill set. He is very tough to defend in iso situations with his ability to handle the ball and create his own shot, whether its off the drive or on a pull up jumper. He also used his long reach to create some turnovers on defense as well. He also received an offer from Depaul on Thursday night. Very talented with a big upside.
Dareon Graham 6’4″ St. Louis Majestics 17U
The smooth 2019 wing player from McCluer scored 15 points in the Majestics first pool play game against Team Magic. He has solid perimeter skills with good handles and a nice stroke from 3-point range. He will also put the ball on the floor and attack the basket, especially going to his left.
Brandon Mason 6’4″ Team Magic 17U
An athletic 2019 wing from Memphis, TN with a tremendous motor, he had a dominant second half in his team’s victory over the St. Louis Majestics in pool play action. The lefty was constantly on the attack and he did a tremendous job finishing at the rim, especially in the transition game. He powered through contact and drew fouls and had more than his share of three-point plays. He also knocked down a pair of 3-pointers when left open.
Ramean Hinton 6’5″ Team Rose 16U
An athletic 2020 forward from Chicago who played with a motor that would not stop, which made for a very productive game against Arsenal Hoops. He was constant motion as he dominated the offensive glass and did an excellent job of scoring on hard cuts to the basket and rim runs in transition. His effort was top notch and he had the results to match.
Tayari Goodwin 5’9″ Arsenal Hoops 17U
The talented 2019 point guard from Parkway North came off the bench and really sparked his team after a very slow start against Pocket City. He started off with a nice floater the lane, then displayed his feathery touch from deep as he canned a pair of 3-pointers that barely touched the net. His quickness and ability to shoot from long distance make him a tough cover.
Sam Thompson 6’9″ Larry Hughes Basketball Academy 15U
The impressive young big from Francis Howell is a big problem with his excellent size and his ability to operate in the low post on both ends of the floor. He can score around the basket with both hands and he also stepped out and knocked down a 15 footer and a 3-pointer. He has good hands and he moves well for a young big. His upside is pretty substantial.
