Recruiting Report: Aidan Shore (2019)
Class of 2019 big man Aidan Shore stands at 6’10” from Sterling and came in as one of the prospects I was most looking forward to evaluating this July. Rail thin and will have to add significant strength at the college level. Could be a redshirt candidate. Rebounds in traffic insanely well flying in to grab many of them! Aggressive on the glass on both ends of the floor. Also works in a lot of skill with mid-range lefty jumpers and post moves. Underrated as a rim protector. Plays with Mercury Elite Thomas 17U.
He discussed how his junior season went.
“We did pretty good making it to the sectional final game where we lost a game we probably shouldn’t have to a team that slowed the ball down. I think I played as a supporter this past season. I averaged about 6.5 points a game.”
What are the strengths of his game at this stage?
“I can step it out with my length, I can be a rebounder, and hit that 15 footer pretty well.”
Shore updated us on his recruitment
“I have offers from St. Cloud State and Lewis. Interest from Denver, Western Illinois, Eastern Illinois, Lafayette, Western Michigan, Ball State.”
St. Cloud State is making his a priority.
“I have had a great relationship with St. Cloud State. We talk a lot on the phone. It is a pretty nice school. I like their gym.”
Lewis is another D2 program that extended an offer. What stands out about them?
“I don’t know. I met the coach for the first time last week. Still trying to get a feel for them.”
Benedictine also jumped in with an offer this past Tuesday. They will be moving to D2 in the near future.
