Recruiting Report: Jovan Stulic (2019)
Jovan Stulic has been absolutely sensational for Seacrest since arriving Serbia last October.
He came to America alone just to play ball and it worked out well. The 6’5″, 200-pounder averaged 22.5 PPG and 6.0 RPG shooting 47 percent from downtown for the 15-11 Stingrays.
Stulic scored double digits in all but one game on the season which included a dominating 44-point performance in a win over Marco Island. He shot 17-of-21 from the field including 4-of-6 from beyond the arc while grabbing nine boards.
“I struggled at the beginning of the year to adapt on the way of playing here. However, I finished the season strong leading the team to the district semi-finals,” Stulic told Prep Hoops. “I am known as a good shooter. I can shot from the arc and I like to take deep shots.
In certain situations can play point guard. If I have a small guard on me, I like to go inside and put him on the post. The part of my game that I see my confidence in is shooting.”
This summer Stulic is playing for Florida Elite. He says it is going well.
No offers have come yet for the rising senior, but he’s drawn interest from Eastern Washington, Longwood, Gardner Webb and Appalachian State.
“My high school coach and my guardian have spoken to a lot of mid and major D1 programs. Coaches say that they like my shot and the way I play,” he said. “Some of them like European players which is one more thing they like about me. They like my strong and athletic body.
Stulic called his work ethic, ability to be a great teammate, shooting and IQ as his biggest strengths. He says he wants to work on his ballhandling the most moving forward.
The Serbian native is rising up the Florida basketball rankings quickly with his pure scoring ability and unselfishness. He’s made the most of his first season and should only build up his confidence as a senior. Stulic is a lethal shooter at times and on a team where he’s the go-to guy, he’s hard to slow down even with teams knowing he’s going to get his looks more often than not.
