NCCA East-West All-Star Game Preview: West All-Stars
Eastern Guilford Wing Jaylen Alston: Scorer and athlete are two things that you hear when his name is mentioned. Plain and simple he knows how to get it done and can go for 30 points in a game at any given moment.
Hayesville HS Guard Josh Cottrell: Scoring the ball is what he does, averaging just under 28 PPG this season with multiple games of 40 points is enough proof for you. Will be staying in state for his college career as he is headed to Western Carolina University.
Carson HS Guard Jamarius Hairston: He has good size for a player at the guard spot and does a bit of everything for his team. Scoring just under 20 PPG this season while snatching down 7 boards a night and causing problems for opponents with his defense by using his wingspan are all things that make him a good player and prospect.
North Davidson HS Forward Satchell Hester: At 6’7 with an average just under 20 points and 10 rebounds per night, he is one that is an asset on just about any team he suits up for. Look for him to make his impact early and often in pick and roll situations as well being active on the glass.
Hickory HS G/F Torey James: He’s headed to Ohio University for his college career so you can expect him to take full advantage of the opportunity to play in NC one last time tonight. He can score the ball well and should have issues getting his shot off by using his height and long wingspan to score over smaller players.
West Rowan F/C Caleb Mauldin: Undersized for your typical center, he doesn’t allow that to be an issue at all. The energy and effort that he brings to the floor will make you forget about what he may be lacking in height rather quickly, productive player and good teammate.
Northern Guilford HS Guard Andy Pack: Elon University is where he will play his college basketball so he will basically be staying at home next season. Scoring the ball is one of his strengths that we saw not only through the high school season last year but also the summer prior to when he played with the NC Spartans .
Lincoln Charter Guard Kody Shubert: A dual threat guard that can put up nice scoring and assist numbers, he has played well on both the UAA circuit and with his high school team over the last few years. This past season he averaged 18 points & 7 assist a night.
Piedmont HS Forward Hunter Tyson: There’s a reason that schools in the ACC were keeping close tabs on him before he made the decision of which school he would attend. 6’8 and averaging over 27 points & 9 rebounds a night tells you what you need to know, if he has a big time game, the West will increase their chances of winning.
