NCCA East-West All-Star Game Preview: East All-Stars
Rocky Mount Prep Guard Khalil Baker: A player that we would say is wired to score, Khalil has put up impressive numbers over the last few years in high school. He can shoot the ball well from deep but also has some secondary moves to get where he wants when he attacks, he’s headed to Davidson CC this fall.
West Columbus Wing Jake Brownlee: Miami Dade College is the program that was able to lock down Brownlee for the next two years as he is headed the JC route. His athletic ability is impressive but he showed throughout the season that scoring & rebounding are places where he can truly make his mark.
Garner HS Forward/Center Kenyon Burton: His play throughout this season turned some heads, with his size, mobility and athleticism, he showed he was a legit prospect early and often. Don’t be shocked if you see him throw down some dunks and reject shots at the rim tonight.
Northside HS Guard Kenny Dye: A lot of wins and a lot of varsity playing time are what Kenny’s career will be most likely be remembered for. The Queens University signee can score the ball but does a nice job of making sure that he gets everybody involved, on the defensive end he gets after it and doesn’t take plays off.
Broughton HS Guard Jalen Finch: One of the more efficient scoring guards that we got the chance to see this season, he does a nice job of finding holes in the defense and taking advantage. On the other side of the ball he makes things tough for defense by applying pressure and using his active hands to irritate the offensive opponent.
Northside HS Guard Gabe Kirkendoll: The ability to score/shoot the ball at a high level is what ended up sending Gabe to ECSU to team up with former teammate Zach Hobbs. Don’t be surprised to see him get it going from three point land tonight, he is more than capable of scoring some buckets in a hurry.
Clinton HS Wing Dewan Lesense: The consistently high motor that he plays with is something that makes you excited to have him on your team. Playing the game at a high tempo is something he enjoys so the game tonight should be right down his alley, headed to UNCP this fall.
Garner HS Guard Marque Maultsby: University of New Hampshire got a good one in Marquee, he has nice size for a PG and possess the trait of being a natural leader with a high IQ for the game. It seems as if every time his team needs a certain play to be made, he is the correct person there to do so.
Green Hope HS Guard Ryan Shaffer: Another player that has good size and can shoot the ball at a very high level, he averaged over 18 points this season while pulling down 5 boards a night.
Westover HS Forward Jalin Thorne: A late addition but a player that should fit in well as he doesn’t mind cleaning the glass and running the floor. Thorne is going the JC route and will be one that could have a very interesting recruiting process in two years if things go right.
