Battle of Seattle 2018 Player Profile: Naysean Baisy (2019 FOH/Rainier Beach)
Naysean Baisy-(6’3, Rainier Beach-2019) The rising senior is hoping to have a productive senior year in order to get his game to the next level. He’s dealt with some adversary over the last season that would have your regular teenager a little down but Naysean seems to be in a good place mentally. “After recovering from an injury that cost me some of last season, I’m finally starting to feel like my old self. I’m starting to get my rhythm back out there, which in itself is a good feeling. I’m looking forward to the rest of the summer and getting in the gym as often as possible,” says Naysean.
The biggest positive I took from this weekend watching Naysean play was that he didn’t seem to be apprehensive at all due to the injury and was looking to play himself back into shape. I saw a kid who displayed a confidence on the court. Whether it was getting to the hoop and finishing with both hands or getting his teammates involved in the game, he looked very comfortable on the floor despite this being his first tournament with FOH (Friends of Hoop) program.
Naysean is looking forward to a big senior season. He mentions he wants to get stronger/faster this offseason so that he can produce as he believes he’s capable of. He feels as though he’s found and hopes to continue improving both his game and his body for the next level. He hopes the opportunity comes knocking soon.
