Next Level Invitational: Sunday Standouts
PrepHoopsIllinois closed out the Next Level Invitational on Sunday in Milwaukee with another group of Illinois teams playing on the final day of the event. We will have extensive scouting and recruiting coverage over the next few days. PHI closes out our daily coverage here with Sunday’s Standouts!
PG Bryce Bultman (Illinois Bears 17U)
Bultman is a 6’5” point guard with excellent vision and feel as a point guard. He is at his best when he can use that passing to get his guys the ball and let them do damage. Reads defenders and is an effective drive and kick distributor. Bultman did a nice job of handling the basketball in the open floor and getting to the rim for several finishes. Got on the offensive glass for some put backs. Jumper needs to improve its consistency.
SG Austin Rager (Illinois Bears 17U)
Rager is a sleeper prospect from Southern Illinois. This Mt. Carmel 2019 wing is a plus athlete with strength in his upper body. Really like what he brings to the table defensively. Contests shots and moves well staying in front of his man on the perimeter. Offensively can hit a mid-range jumper and created his own shot off the bounce on a few occasions.
F Anthony Roberts (Made Men 17U)
Roberts is an intriguing prospect that will definitely see a bump in the rankings in the next update. He is 6’4”, but plays bigger than his height. Looked great on a couple of explosive drives from the perimeter where he showed crisp handles. Capable three point shooter especially off the catch. Finished well catching passes in traffic.
G Dashon Enoch (Made Men 17U)
Enoch is a powerful combo guard that once again played with a high motor and made key plays down the stretch to lead his team to a win in the game that we saw. The OPRF guard is excellent winning off the dribble and finishing through contact at the rim. Explosive burst with the basketball in his hands. Gets to the free throw line at a high rate.
SG Jamir Price (Quad City Elite 17U)
Price closed out his strong week in Milwaukee with a big time performance against REACH Legends. The Rock Island standout played a lot on the ball with DJ Carton not being there this past week. With the ball in his hands he was able to slash to the rim on a regular basis playing with a very high motor. Overall this was the most consistently assertive we have seen Price play in his career.
PF CJ Wilbourn (Quad City Elite 17U)
Wilbourn is another prospect from QCE that saw his stock rise with his play in Milwaukee. The 6’6” four man looked very comfortable playing as a face up four connecting on jumpers from both mid-range and three. Handled it well on the perimeter. Also mixed in some finishes inside. Rebounded well in traffic.
G Connor Dillon (Illinois Irish 16U)
Dillon is an athletic combo guard that is definitely a sleeper out of central Illinois. Wiry guard that doesn’t look like the most imposing athlete, but he surprises you getting up for some high flying conversions at the rim. Skilled guard that handles it well using fakes and hesitation to keep defenders off balance.
SG Drew Wollenschlager (Illinois Irish 16U)
Wollenschlager is a well-built wing that has a lot of toughness and grit to his game. Solid catch and shoot threat and also got some second chance points using his toughness inside on the glass.
PG Jordan Rice (Quad City Elite 15U)
Rice is a tiny point guard from Rock Island High School that is a flat out bucket getter! He might not have missed the entire game while going for 20 points. Jump shot was on point drilling pull up threes coming off ball screens. Quickness off the bounce getting in the lane for floaters. Pushes it in the open floor with his speed.
