Summer Snapshot: Northern Idaho Prospect Jack Kiesbuy Catches Us Up On His Summer With Eastern Washington Elite And More
Up in the northern part of Idaho one can find some supremely talented prospects and on that very note Prep Hoops Idaho recently touched base with Jack Kiesbuy (2021) who plays for Lake City in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho.
Kiesbuy, a 6-foot-4, forward has a lengthy style that allows him to finish well in the lane and create problems for opposing teams with his defensive prowess. Now, with strides made on both his jumper and ability to put the ball on the court and drive, Kiesbuy is rounding out into a very interesting prospect. Last season as a freshman, Kiesbuy started in approximately half of his team’s games at the varsity level and came off the bench in the other half and contributed when needed. Kiesbuy averaged near 4.0 points a game.
This spring and summer Kiesbuy has played with Eastern Washington Elite, it is his second season doing so for the well-respected grass roots program that plays in a number of top tournaments around the area and beyond. His play with EWE has helped grow his game even more so getting that opportunity to face top tier competition from different regions i.e. Anaheim, California and Bellevue, Washington.
Kiesbuy elaborated on his time with EWE, “this is my second year playing for Eastern Washington Elite. I have played several tournaments in April and May and starting up in a couple of weeks we’re going to Bellevue, Las Vegas and Anaheim. I feel like I’ve been scoring a lot more and have improved my pull up game.”
Of course, July is a busy time for all grass roots hoopers and it appears Kiesbuy will be in that same boat, the destinations in which EWE is set to head to will prove to be valuable once again as Kiesbuy sets himself up for an even more successful sophomore season.
On his own, Kiesbuy has some specific things he’s focused on, “I’m mostly working on my ball handling and my driving ability more, my defense is solid and I’m a great outside shooter.” Being a two-way player is obviously important to Kiesbuy, and that is certainly a good thing to see.
After missing the state tournament by way of a play-in game against Grangeville, Kiesbuy and his Lake City squad will be looking to get over the hump and punch their ticket this time around. “My team at Lake City will be very young this up coming season but we’ll be prepared to play against our up coming opponents. My personal goal for this year is to average more than 15 points per game.”
Kiesbuy is firmly on our 2021 radar, and it sounds like he should have another beneficial July with Eastern Washington Elite as well.
