Recruiting Report: Cade Goggleye (2019)
Not many players can say that they led their team to the state title game twice, but Cade Goggleye can. Cade has a shot to make it three straight as a senior.
“For my senior season we’ll have our two starting bigs back with good pieces to fill in for last years seniors,” Cade said. “The expectations are the same, gel during the season, and win the section.”
The Grizzlies plan usually works. A 31-2 record proves that. With Trevor Morrison, Chase Kleppe, and several others back North Woods will once again be a top five level team in Class A as state title contenders.
There are shoes to fill with Tate Olson and Brendan Parson graduating but Cade has a plan to make himself an even more versatile weapon.
“For my senior year I’d like to improve my strength and my ball-handling,” Cade explained. “There’s always room to improve every part of your game.”
Cade plays with the Minnesota Comets K team that has had some great moments this year with a deep group of talented guards. They have a 23-9 record heading into July.
“Some of our top moments this 17u season have been players stepping up when some players are gone or injured,” Cade said.
“We really play team ball and that’s what’s it about. We hope to have fun and win, that’s pretty much how our team works, if we’re having fun and not hesitant, it’s pretty hard to stop us.”
The explosive shooting touch of Cade Goggleye has several D3 schools in contact and an important visit coming up (plus some D2 interest).
“I’ve had a lot of D3 schools such as St. John’s, U of Wisconsin River-Falls, Augsburg, and many more in contact,” Cade said.
“There’s been two D2 schools looking at me and I hope to add more to that list this upcoming season. I have one visit to Saint John’s soon, but that’s all I have for the time being. I have to schedule some more.”
