A look at Southwest Missouri prospects
Things have been poppin’ in the Southwest Missouri region with the number of talented prospects in the different classes. With the July evaluation periods approaching within a week, here is a look at a dozen of those top SWMO players that Prep Hoops Missouri will be tracking:
2019
Tyem Freeman 6’6″ Parkview (MO Team Carroll 17U)
The uber athlete is already off the market as he gave a verbal commitment to Missouri State University. Not only is he one of the most prodigious dunkers in the state, he is also an excellent offensive threat who can attack the basket and knock down jumpers.
Broc Smith 6’4″ Republic (MO Team Carroll 17U)
The talented wing enjoyed an excellent spring season shooting the basketball from long distance. He has already received offers from Division IIs Drury, Southwest Baptist and Washburn with several others showing interest.
Trenton Smith 6’6″ Carl Junction (MO Team Carroll 17U
The athletic post player can score around the basket while doing a nice job of expanding his game to the perimeter. He is becoming a reliable catch-and-shoot guy from 3-point range. He has received Division II offers from Pittsburg State and Southwest Baptist.
Jake Branham 6’2″ Springfield Catholic (MO Team Carroll 17U)
The talented point guard followed up a tremendous close to his junior season with a solid spring showing. He is a bucket-getter who can knock down jumpers and still facilitate the offense.
Tahja Stewart 6’3″ Waynesville
An athletic wing player with an excellent skill set on the perimeter. He attacks the bucket with his physical strength, plus he can shoot the ball. He is also a very unselfish player who can drop dimes.
2020
Dontae Taylor 6’2″ Parkview (Missouri Flight 16U)
A talented combo guard who helped Parkview to the Class 5 state quarterfinals. He is very athletic and an exciting playmaker when he has the ball in his hands.
Quenton Shelton 6’2″ Lebanon (Woodz Elite, AR 16U)
The skilled combo guard has been putting in work on the 16U EYBL circuit with a good Woodz Elite team out of Arkansas. He is a long range shooter who can create buckets for himself and his teammates.
Evan Guillory 6’2″ Joplin (Team Griffin, OK)
A bullish wing player who led his team to the Class 5 sectionals then enjoyed a solid spring season. He is a physical guard who is very at attacking the basket and finishing at the rim.

Daniel Abreau 6’5″ Willard (Missouri Flight 16U)
A very nice combo forward who has developed into a matchup problem. He is an aggressive rebounder around the basket, plus he can put in it the floor and get to the basket against opposing bigs.

2021
Anton Brookshire 6’1″ Kickapoo (Yanders Law 16U)
A very talented and skilled floor general who is already one of the top prospects in the Southwest Missouri region. He is putting in work at the 16U level. He has already received early offers from Tennessee State and Milwaukee.

Isaac Haney 5’11” Dora (Yanders Law 16U)
One of the top young bucket-getters in the state. He was an immediate smash as a freshman when he averaged 22 points a game. He has continued his good work into the spring while playing 16U. He has picked up an early offer from Cleveland State.

Kaleb Wofford 6’1″ Nixa (Yanders Law 16U)
A very smooth young shooting guard with good length and the ability to knock down jumpers from 3-point range. He has nice handles and plays under control.
