PG D’Aaron Owens (Centralia – 2016)
Most underrated player in the state. The Centralia 5’9” floor general made his team go throughout the last four year and was the catalyst for all their success this season. He is a true leader that can score, pass, and defend.
PG Braden Fitzjerrells (Mt. Vernon – 2016 – Lindenwood Belleville)
Owens and Fitzjerrells belong on this same team. The southern Illinois point guard is a scoring machine that is exciting with the ball in his hands drilling pull up threes and getting in the lane for quick finishes. He is going to do major damage at Lindenwood Belleville.
PF Lorenzo Edwards (Lake Forest – 2016)
Edwards is one of the best post prospects in the state of Illinois. The strong back to the basket lefty is an efficient scorer that has a great feel for getting buckets in the paint. He was great in the summer and showed he could play on the high school this year at a high level without Evan Boudreaux.
PG Tommy Lucca (Geona Kingston – 2016 – Michigan Tech)
I have been a huge fan of this guard for years. He has a high IQ with a tremendous feel for the game and on the high school level posts monster point totals. Lucca is a steal at the D2 level and has been one of the more undervalued players in Illinois the past two seasons.
SF Justin Smith (Stevenson – 2017)
Smith took it up a notch in the second half of the season. The question with him is would he be able to take over games with Brunson gone. In the second half of the season he showed that answer was yes. Athletic wing scorer that has a high ceiling.
PG Nojel Eastern (Evanston – 2017)
Big guard that plays multiple positions. Led his team to a great regular season record and had flashes of brilliance along the way. One of the top junior prospects in the state is one to watch closely this spring.
