More importantly his team is on a six game winning streak and has recently picked up big wins over Rolla (twice) and North Star.
“The season is going great,” Dalton told PHD. “We lost a couple games that we shouldn’t have (Thompson and Dunseith). To keep things going we have to keep our team together. No one can argue and pick fights. Then I think we got a good shot at going to state.”
The Woodchucks have been very powerful offensively with Poitra leading the way but getting solid help from sophomore guard Kyler McGillis (15.8 a game), senior Seth Vivier (10 a game), and junior Kevin Grant (another ten).
Poitra has been unguardable though drawing about five fouls a game on the attack plus making nearly half of his eight treys a game. He’s doing some of everything for the Woodcucks. And even though his percentages are good, Dalton wants to shoot even better.
“I feel like I have played good! I really haven’t found my stroke from three point land yet but it will come tournament time. I want to shoot a lot better that is my goal.”
Dalton has also decided what he is going to do for college and that is be a two sport athlete within the state.
“I have made up my mind,” Dalton said. “I’m going to go to Minot State University to duel sport. Play basketball and golf.”
