Player Of The Week: Feb 1–Feb 7
Trae Berhow, Watertown-Mayer — Berhow, W-M’s stud junior, had 40 of his team’s 60 points in a quality win over Annandale on Friday. He is averaging 26.3 PPG and holds four D1 offers.
Braxton Raymond, Kasson-Mantorville — Braxton had 18 points and 9 rebounds in his team’s 68-56 win over Cannon Falls and 26 points and 8 rebounds in his team’s 51-48 win over rival Byron; in the latter game, Braxton had 6 3-pointers and hit the game winning shot with 17 seconds left in the game.
Josh Rands, Waconia — The senior shooter had seven 3-pointers last week against state-ranked Patrick Henry, totaling 27 total points in the win (a career high). Waconia is ranked No. 6 in Class AAA.
Charlie Irmiger, Minneapolis Washburn — Ranked No. 1 in Class A, Minneapolis North rolled into Washburn’s gym with a 12-game conference winning streak. But the Millers’ Winona State-signed Charlie Irmiger logged a triple double (11 pts, 12 reb, 10 blks) as part of a big upset win.
Cedric Boone, Minnetonka — The shifty senior broke a four-game Lake Conference slide by Minnetonka, logging 32 points in a 94-90 win against Eden Prairie.
Jarvis Thomas, Tartan — The 6-foot-6 high-rising sophomore had 21 points against Hill-Murray and 26 against Hastings in two wins of more than 25 points. Included in those games were several high-light reel dunks, a trademark of Thomas’.
