Stonewall Jackson’s 5-foot-9 lead guard, who’s a top-5 scorer in the DC Metropolitan Area, boasts a very healthy 25.5 point-per-game scoring average. He hasn’t been held to less than 15 points all season.
In last night’s Cedar Run Conference semifinal contest vs. Osbourn, Keaton orchestrated his most memorable performance of the season. He scored a career-high 46 points and snagged 8 rebounds, while shooting 16/26 from the field, 7/11 from 3-point range, and 7/8 from the charity stripe. He hit a series of key free throws down the stretch, two to send the game into OT, and two more to ice the victory for the Raiders.

Keaton has worked very hard to condition himself for late-game scenarios. He prides himself on being in shape, and believes it’s a major ingredient to his success as one of the state’s most prolific scorers.
“I try to keep in condition, stay in shape,” Simmons explained. “I feel like if I don’t get tired I can still maintain my game.”
Schools from all levels are currently in contact with Keaton. Radford, VMI, and Mount Olive are the most recent to inquire about his services. He stated that he does not plan to make his college decision until after the season.
As an explosive guard who mixes a tight handle to go along with a high motor, advanced feel and understanding, there’s no question about the level of talent Keaton exhibits. What sets him apart from other guards, however, is his unconditional desire to be great. Given the fact that it was Osbourn who had held him to his season-low 15 and dealt his team two regular season losses, it’s not necessarily surprising to see him recover how he did.
