#10 Malik Ondigo 6’10” C Dysart
Ondigo has just about as much upside as any post prospect in this class. He’s a lengthy, mobile, and athletic 6’10” and is just beginning to scratch the surface. Malik made big strides this spring and summer. He is a high level shot blocker and rebounder that is now playing aggressive at the rim. He’s also developed a nice 10-12 foot catch and shoot jumper. Currently a mid major prospect, Ondigo is young for his age. If he opts the prep route he has a strong chance of earning high major scholarships.
#15 Elijah Ifejeh 6’6” PF Hillcrest Prep
Ifejeh is featured in this ranking but in our next update will be featured in the 2017 class as he recently reclassified. The 6’6” Canadian import is a big time athlete with a strong build and long arms. He’s very explosive off the bounce and is a high level rebounder. He has the potential to move over to the small forward position but, for now, is a high level athlete with a great motor and a lot of tools. A low major prospect.
#24 Brett Morrow 6’7” PF Flagstaff
Morrow is a player that has been slowed all season by a labrum injury that kept him out the entire spring and summer. He isn’t in great shape right now but is definitely improving. He’s got a nice touch from the mid range area and rebounds at a pretty high level. A Division-II/NAIA D1 prospect.
#28 John Trendler 6’8” C Mountain View
Trendler is a nice prospect. He’s a 6’8” wide body that understands who he is, what he does (and doesn’t do well) and plays within himself. John understands where to plant himself for quick catch and finish baskets. He’s mobile for his size and finishes through contact at the rim. He also has a nice left shoulder drop step finish. A Division-II/NAIA D1 prospect.
#35 Lawrence Combs 6’6” F Mountain Pointe
Combs is a skilled face up 4 man with good length. He moves well and has the ability to defend multiple defenders, both on the perimeter and in the post. At the collegiate level he will see time at both forward slots due to his versatility. He is very good at running, catching, and finishing in transition and also is good with short drives. He has the ability to knock down outside shots and is very active on the glass. A high level Division-II/NAIA D1 prospect.
#41 Robbie Wauro 6’9” C Thunderbird
Wauro is a center with good tools. He moves well, blocks shots, and rebounds on both ends of the floor. While he isn’t tremendously skilled around the basket he is comfortable passing from the high post and has decent coordination. Continued improvement on his touch at the rim will make him more ready to contribute immediately. A Division-II/NAIA D1 prospect.
#42 Davion Green 6’6” PF McClintock
High motor, high motor, high motor! Green is a physical worker on the interior and owns the glass on both ends of the floor. He’s got broad shoulders, is a solid athlete, and explodes around the basket. He runs the floor well and, while he’ll need to improve his offensive skillset, is good at drawing fouls on defenders off sheer work ethic. A Division-II/NAIA D1 prospect.
#47 Matt Morgan 6’7” PF Farifax
Morgan is a player that hasn’t begun to scratch his potential yet. All the tools are there…he’s athletic, long, and runs the floor like a deer. Matt’s ability to alter and block shots is where he will immediately impact the game. As he continues to develop strength he will have the chance to be a tremendous defender with versatility to defend the 3 as well due to his athleticism. He has shown a nice mid range game already and will just need to continue to steadily improve his skill level. A Division-II/NAIA D1 prospect with higher potential if he opts for the junior college route.
#51 Jonathan Stevens 6’6” PF Hillcrest Prep
Stevens is a lengthy and athletic 4 man who does the dirty work on the inside. He makes a ton of hustle plays to get extra possessions and is very active on the offensive glass. A Division-II/NAIA D1 prospect.
#64 Tony Licavoli 6’7” PF Gilbert Christian
Licavoli saw his senior season slowed by an early injury but is now back in the fold looking to make a late run with the Knights. At 6’7” he’s a mobile stretch 4 that can make shots from the perimeter and attack the offensive glass. A high level Division-III/NAIA D2 prospect.
