Ohio Player of the Week 1/18-1/23
Here are the Ohio Player of the Week candidates for the week ending Jan. 23:
Jack Corrigan, Rocky River: In two wins this past week, Corrigan averaged 28.5 points per game. The senior guard had 32 points in a win over Lutheran West, which was his fifth 30-point game of the season.
Markell Johnson, East Tech: In three wins this past week, Johnson averaged 29.7 points per game. He scored 32 points in back-to-back games — wins against John Marshall and Beachwood.
Justin Ahrens, Versailles: The sophomore guard had 33 points in a win over Marion Local on Friday night. He averages 25 points.
DeAnthony McCallum, Anderson: The senior guard had 32 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals in the Redskins’ 84-75 loss at Kings Jan. 19. He was 14 of 15 from the free-throw line. He had 24 points, four rebounds, three steals and two blocks in a 64-58 loss to Walnut Hills Jan. 22.
Kobe Brown, Cincinnati Northwest: The senior guard had 23 points, nine rebounds, five steals and three steals in a 70-57 win over Ross Jan. 23.
Will Coker, Woodward: The junior guard had 33 points and four assists in a 76-63 loss to Middletown Jan. 23.
