Continue ReadingNot all post players go to college developed. It is always harder to project this position because some are still getting used to their bodies and, a lot of the time, get their ‘ah-ha’ moment after they enter college. Here is a list of some of the post projects that are still available.
Davion Green 6’6” PF McClintock
While Green doesn’t have the size of some of the players on this list he has an innate skill and that is his motor and toughness on the glass. He pursues rebounds off the rim on both ends of the floor. Davion plays a physical style and with some development on the offensive end could turn into a nice player at the low major, D2, or NAIA D1 levels after a junior college stint.
Kaleb Hagerman 6’9” C Flagstaff
Long and thin, Hagerman plays alongside two very aggressive and active post players. He is thin and runs the floor well but hasn’t been challenged to score much offensively due to his surroundings. Added strength in the weight room and focus on his skill development could help him to become a nice small college level prospect.
Nick Hill 6’7” PF Trevor Browne
Hill is a player who is raw with fundamentals but does show a good level of skill. He is a thin, lengthy 6’7” but has a decent handle, while he lacks the strength to finish through contact, he’s shown an ability to get by his defender and take it to the rim. He also has shown the ability to make shots from the perimeter. Defensively he is good playing off the ball as he is athletic enough to protect the rim. He is an ideal prospect for the D3 and NAIA D2 levels but could develop into a nice player down the road for a D2/NAIA D1 program.
Matt Morgan 6’7” PF Fairfax
Morgan is a player with a ton of upside. The lengthy forward runs the floor like a deer, rebounds well, and it is a very good shot blocker. He has shown the ability to stretch the floor from 15-18 feet and also has developed some nice moves around the rim. He will certainly need to add strength in order to finish at the next level but is a player with loads of potential. Still growing, he could find his way to a nice low major program after a junior college stint. At the four year level, D2 and NAIA D1 coaches are encouraged to pursue him. Arizona Christian, Biola, and others have already begun.
Malik Ondigo 6’10” C Dysart
Though he has come a long way in the past year Ondigo is still a bit of a project. He’s a lengthy, mobile 6’10” prospect with a lot of upside and has barely scratched his potential. He’s became much more aggressive on the offensive end, constantly trying to finish above the rim even through contact. As always, he continues to be a good shot blocker and is developing into a dominant rebounder on both ends of the floor. A mid major prospect who is young for his classification. UTEP, Northern Arizona, and Cal Poly are among the schools that have offered scholarships.
Robbie Wauro 6’9” C Thunderbird
Wauro is a late developing post with a lot of tools. He can run the floor, rebounds well, and has shown to be a capable shot blocker. Offensively, he is raw, but is comfortable passing the ball from the high post and has shown soft hands at the rim. High level D2’s and NAIA D1’s should certainly keep him in strong considerations.
