SG George Wilborn (De La Salle)
Wilborn started the day off in style at the Tosh Tournament. The 6’4” shooting guard came out aggressive and looking to score. His combination of strength, quickness, and athleticism allows him to consistently win off the bounce getting to the hoop where he has a good feel finishing through contact. Clean looking jumper with elevation and can hit a three every now and then. Wilborn is an effective offensive rebounder that crashes for second chance opportunities. He accelerates with the ball in his hands and is a quality transition player pushing it passed his opponents. He had 15 points and 12 rebounds. Needs to be on the low-major D1 radar!
C Barret Benson (Hinsdale South)
The Northwestern commit had several standout moments! The first came when the 6’11” center picked the pocket of his opponent, crossed him over when the defender was backpedalling, and then dunked on him. Late in the game he hit the game winning shot at the buzzer to give Hinsdale South the W. The big bodied post is a space eater on the interior that is consistently double and tripled teamed. His skill and passing ability allow him to be effective scoring and finding open teammates. He showed several nice post moves throughout the game. The senior had 24 points and 9 rebounds. Top 5 prospect in the senior class.
G Zak Razik (Sandburg)
Razik is a 6’1” combo guard that is very strong in his upper body. He plays with flare and is crafty with the ball in his hands. He takes sharp angles when getting in the lane to score and can finish with acrobatic layups in the paint. The tough guard has a nose for the basketball and also moves well away from the ball. Flashed ability to hit a three. The lefty is an exciting passer that puts zip on his dishes. He went for 16 points. Worth consideration at the D3 level.
PF Andre Raiford (De La Salle)
Raiford stands at 6’5” with a strong build and athleticism. He is mobile in the paint and explosive around the hoop. Flashed a couple of post moves and runs the floor in transition. Can hit a 10 foot jumper as well. 16 points for the senior who would be a good fit at the NAIA/D3/JUCO level.
PF Sean McShane (Sandburg)
McShane is a 6’5” four man that has long arms and mobility. He is active in the paint with a projectable body. Good area rebounder that shows he can clear the glass. Shooting stroke from mid-range is sound mechanically. McShane says he will probably just go to a college for academics, but a D3/NAIA could get a nice piece if he decides to play hoops.
SF Daniel Ogele (St. Ignatius)
Ogele is a physically built 6’6” forward that plays mostly inside on the high school level, but projects as a small forward for college. Worked best when in the high and mid-post where he utilized his passing, quickness, and even hit a mid-range jumper. Needs to be more dominant against small opponents on the interior. Hard to tell how his perimeter skills have developed as he didn’t play there much. Ogele is a very good D2 prospect that could be low-major D1 in the right system.
SF Will Fleming (St. Ignatius)
Fleming is a 6’5” wing that is a plus shooter from the perimeter. Best off the catch from both three and when he can catch then turn in the mid-range from 15-18 feet. Had a nice high-low finish. Overall needs to improve quickness defensively and ability to score off the bounce. D3/NAIA shooting specialist who had 14 points.
PG Kailan Lee (St. Ignatius)
Lee is a small lefty point guard that is shifty with the rock. He is best shooting the basketball particularly as a spot up guy. Can cross his man and pull up with his jumper. Finished with 12 points. D3/NAIA prospect.
PG Daniko Jackson (Riverside Brookfield)
Jackson stands at only 5’10” but he plays with a lot of heart. Jackson is a pressure on ball defender that causes havoc at the point of attack. Offensively the lefty point guard has slick handles and gets through traffic with ease. Loves to push the tempo and get others involved. Can hit a three on occasion. Worth consideration for D2 schools, but most likely will be a very good D3/NAIA prospect.
PG Jelani McClain (Naperville North)
McClain is a thick bodied 6’0” point guard that was good defensively getting steals early in their game. Solid passer that is crafty with the ball and gets in the lane with his strength. His lack of speed will hurt him at the next level. Finished with 11 points. Small college prospect.
C Alfred Evans (Westinghouse)
This 6’7” center is a big bodied post that finishes on his limited touches in the paint. He is a space eater that plays physical inside. Good area rebounder. A bit raw, but has tools to work with. Small college prospect.
PG Journey Fleming (Hope)
Fleming was impressive at 6’0” with his perimeter shooting. Also displayed shake as the game went on getting in the lane hitting runners and getting to the charity stripe. Fleming had 25 points. Small college or JUCO prospect.
PF Ibrahim Dosunmu (Lincoln Park)
Dosunmu has a great combination of strength and athleticism at 6’6”. He uses those gifts to play physical around the hoop. He is quick to the glass snatching rebounds aggressively with his strong hands. Definitely a plus rebounder. Offensively he gets a lot of points on dump off passes and put backs. At times struggles finishing in the paint. Upside post that should be effective at the small college level.
PF Jalen Louie (Lincoln Park)
Louie is a crafty 6’5” four man. Thick bodied post that likes to face up and work out of the mid-post. Utilizes fakes and can put it on the deck a couple times. Quality area rebounder. Should be productive small college player.
SG Jeremiah Matthews (Crete Monee)
Matthews put on one of the best shows of the season. He has been known as a bit of a streaky shooter. Well against St. Charles East he was on fire! The 6’2” lefty is a spot up shooter that was in a zone! It was like the splash brothers as they were going in one after another after another. Anytime he got the slightest bit of space the ball was in the air. Also showed some ability off the bounce with quick change of direction in the lane hitting some runners and layups. Matthews went for 38 points (12-18 FG), 5 rebounds, and 2 steals. He is not getting any college attention. That needs to change ASAP! D3, NAIA, and JUCO ALERT!
