Last year he was the state tournament’s 1A MVP as a sophomore. The 5-foot-11 point guard spent his summer with the Iowa Barnstormers and has picked up right where he left off – a special talent for Gladbrook-Reinbeck.
2 Jackson Lamb, 27.3 PPG
The 6-foot-3 Nodaway Valley guard is also averaging 7.5 rebounds per game. The senior also leads the Wolverines in steals and assists.
3 CJ Michels, 26.8 PPG
Relatively new to the scene of elite scorers in the state, the 6-foot-1 Marquette Catholic senior is averaging a double-double this season, snaring 10.8 rebounds per game. He averaged 13.7 points per game last season as a junior.
4 Colt Scott, 26.6 PPG
A Bedford standout, Scott not only has led the Bulldogs off to a 6-1 start, but has been scorching teams defensively, swiping 4.7 steals per game.
5 Xavior Williams, 26.3 PPG
The two-sport standout has four Division I football scholarships to choose from, but says he’d be open to hearing from basketball programs too.
6 Trent Moore, 24.0 PPG
Moore has been astonishingly productive for Wayne this season, not only efficient – shooting 59 percent from the floor – but he’s averaging an eye-opening 14.6 rebounds from the guard spot.
7 Bradley Fisher, 23.8 PPG
A recent Briar Cliff commit, Fisher is a 6-foot-5 wing who can do it all for Ankeny Christian Academy.
8 Kyle Wagner, 23.6 PPG
Wagner has been tormenting opponents since his sophomore season, and has become a mainstay on these ‘rank em lists over the years. He’s got IKM-Manning off to a 7-0 start.
9 Timothy Doering, 23. 4 PPG
Always a threat to come away with a triple-double, the Waterloo Christian point guard is averaging 7.7 rebounds, 6.7 assists, and 4.7 steals in addition to his high scoring.
10 Collin Heynen, 22.7 PPG
Another triple-double machine, the Trinity Christian senior is not only a top-10 scorer, but he’s leading the state averaging 18.4 rebounds per game also.
