Caymn Lutz
6’2 – CG – 2017
Lutz has had a really good year so far and helped to provide some extra offense and ball handler up to for Heights. He’s 6’2 and strong with a good looking shot. Best tonight with a few jump shots. He showed that against Mt. Vernon when I watched and it surprised a bit. Nice to see him repeat that. Like his ability to handle the ball and being a point guard for a lower level school could make him very attractive. Got a big steal at the end of the game to help Heights. – 9 points
Hunter Crist
6’2 – SG – 2016
Hunter is still one of the best shooters in the state but he does press a little bit and did that tonight. However, he had a stretch in the middle of the game that made you believe he’s a high-end talent. When he is in rhythm he’s nothing but net from deep and has a deadly step-back from the free throw line extended. Showing improvements in getting to the rim and now that he can score well at all three levels it might just be as simple as putting it all together consistently. Was big down the stretch getting some key boards and driving more at the rim. – 21 points
Sterling Weatherford
6’5 – SF – 2017
Maybe the best game I’ve seen yet from Sterling. The 6’5 wing was ultra aggressive early on looking to create shots in the mid-range using a lot of floaters and touch shots. He’s a tough matchup because of his size and athleticism. Had a tough time trying to defend Dylan Barrow and picked up some fouls. He did well grabbing a few boards and being active. If not for foul trouble his numbers would be much better. Good to see him be involved from start to finish on the offensive end which to this point might have been the only big knock on his game. – 22 points, 7 rebounds
Leo:
Dylan Barrow
6’8 – PF – 2016
Barrow is such a difficult matchup at the high school level. He’s a true stretch four who will mix it up inside and out. Legit size and strong enough to fight off the smaller, stronger guards he goes against in the post. Has great touch out beyond the three point line and showed a little of that tonight. Really skilled and not afraid to make some athletic plays anywhere on the floor. Could be an instant impact guy next year. – 16 points
Kray Klopfenstein
6’2 – SG – 2016
Good seeing Kray be active in this game. Didn’t see that much during the summer and that could be because he didn’t have the ball in his hands. He’s really adept at creating off the bounce and getting at the basket. He’s really, really strong and can physically push guys out of the way on baseline drives. Biggest gripe is he isn’t a three-point shooter. It would be nice if he adds that because he isn’t likely to be a point guard option, rather a wing scorer. – 12 points
