Unknown and Unranked
Prep Hoops covers plenty of kids in the Palmetto State. Lets just say we miss the boat on a kid or two. Sometimes we see a kid for the first time and wonder why we haven’t seen him before hand. Here are a few kids that are unknown and unranked in the Palmetto State.
CS Holmes – Carolina HS (Greenville) (pictured on front)
Prep Hoops first saw Holmes last week at the Summer Sizzlin Shootout at Greenville HS. Holmes plays at 3-A Carolina HS. Holmes is a very fast guard from end to end on the floor. Holmes looks to leak out for some cheapies from time to time. Holmes really looks to defend on the ball and isn’t afraid to mix it up and create some havoc on the floor.
Tyshon Richardson – Stall HS (North Charleston)
Richardson is not very skilled at all. Richardson 6’3 has great energy on the floor for the Warriors and just does the little things to help your team win games. Richardson has a great nose for the ball really excels in the transition game with his floor speed.
Colin Burns – St Joes Catholic HS (Greenville)
Burns plays multiple sports for the Knights. Burns 6’4 combo guard was a All-Region performer this season for Head coach Paul Assinesi and the Knights. Burns is a solid on the ball defender and has a slender-sleek frame.
Jake Atkins – Dorman HS
Atkins fits into this team quite well. Atkins a guard has plenty of talent round him where he can focus on just being a role guy. Atkins will take a charge or knockdown a perimeter jumper.
Brandon Fortenberry-Smith – Chapman HS (Inman)
Prep Hoops hadn’t seen Fortenberry-Smith play until last weekend at the Camp of Champs in Spartanburg, SC. Fortenberry-Smith a point guard logged a lot of minutes on the floor for the Panthers. Fortenberry-Smith was quick to the basket and had the ability to change gears to get by defenders.
