What are the strengths of your game and what are some things you are still working on?
“I feel that I need to work on every aspect of my game. I work every day to improve my game and continue to get better as a person and a teammate.”
Who are some guys you like to mold your game after? Why?
“I try to mold my game around Kevin Love and sort of my own mold as well. I try to be as unique as possible, doing the scrappy stuff like sprinting in transition, grabbing offensive rebounds, guarding the best guy on the court and being able to score on and off the dribble and without using the ball.”
Who is the toughest player you’ve ever had to guard? What made him/her so hard to defend?
“I don’t really tend to look at who I am guarding, I look at how I’m going to guard that guy. Whenever I guard I’m going to give 110% making sure they don’t get a chance to score the ball and to always be in my help position, so if my guy gets beat I can be there for his recovery.”
Who is your hero/role model? Why?
“My brother is my biggest role model. Seeing him overcome so many adversities in his life (3 knee surgeries) and still being able to get a division 2 scholarship for athletics at SVSU is very inspiring to me.”
What is your favorite subject in school? Why?
“My favorite subject in school is science and seeing how we have evolved over the course of our existence. I am also interested in what methods work to cure illnesses.”
What would you like college coaches to know about you that they might not be able to see by just watching film?
“That I am a leader and the team always comes first. No matter what setting I’m in, I tend to carry myself as a leader and do the right thing. I always push my team to improve every day I step foot on the court. Without my team I don’t know where I would be. They are my family and we have a bond that cannot be broken. Also, I’m very competitive, and putting my team in the best position to win with me on and off the court.”
What do you see yourself doing after basketball?
“After basketball, my interests are veterinary medicine, marine biology or orthopedic medicine.”
What is the toughest environment you’ve ever had to play in?
“The toughest environment I’ve had to play in is the north vs south rivalry game but it’s not necessarily tough, it’s more so excitement. Everyone from the neighborhood is watching you play and it gets really loud and becomes a really fun place for me to play.”
If you could play alongside any other player in the country, who would it be and why?
“I’m willing to play with anyone in the country as long as they have the work ethic and willingness to get better and constantly improve their game.”
What are your dreams and goals in basketball?
“My goals and dreams for basketball would be to become a collegiate basketball player and become the best possible basketball player I can be by reaching my full potential.”
