Coastal Carolina University Elite Camp
The Coastal Carolina University Elite Camp took place at the HTC Center on the Conway, SC campus. Prep Hoops was in attendance with 37 campers in attendance. Prep Hoops takes a look at which players from the Palmetto State stood out in the camp.
Kaleb Mack (2020) – Legacy Early College (Greenville)
Mack 6’2 really handles the ball well in the open court. Mack really likes the ball in his hands whenever possible o on the floor. Mack is more of a driver than a shooter. Mack tends to be a streaky shooter on the perimeter.
Zyan Gilmore (2020) – Clarendon Hall (Summerton)
Gilmore averaged 28.4 ppg last season for the SCISA 1-A program. Gilmore is a GAMER on the floor – never no quit in his mindset and attitude. Gilmore wants the ball in the clutch time.
Mark Parker (2020) – Hemingway HS
Parker has had the Tigers in the past few state Championship games and provides good leadership on the floor with his maturity and poise. Parker sees the floor really well and plays with a very unselfish attitude.
Kameron Little (2021) – Legacy Early College (Greenville)
Little 6’4 has a great upside and a slender-thin frame. Little was all over the court today in the middle of everything.
James Lovorn (2021) – TL Hanna HS (Anderson) (pictured on front)
Lovorn is a crafty point guard who can get into the gaps and penetrates-kicks to the open man. Lovorn averaged 11 ppg last season as freshman for TL Hanna HS. Lovorn plays with Team South Carolina on the AAU circuit.
Umar Lawson (2021) – Laurence Manning Academy (Manning)
Lawson a left-handed guard recently enrolled at Laurence Manning Academy after being at Lakewood HS last season. Lawson should get the keys to the car for the Swamp Cats with the youth movement taking place on Will Epps squad. Lawson likes to attack the rim and when ever gets the chance looks to dunk everything.
James “JJ” Jones (2021) – Socastee HS
Jones plays with SO MUCH ENENGY it’s scary at times. Jones never takes plays off. Look for him to be a nice addition to the Braves lineup this coming season.
Kylic Horton (2022) – Clarendon Hall (Summerton)
Horton 6’4 is just 14 years old for the Saints. Horton has really good length already but will really look to fill out and mature down the road. Horton averaged 14.9 ppg lasr season as a 8th grader.
