2021 First Ranking: Wings and Fours
The class of 2021 has some extremely skilled wings who have already made their names known. The top prospect in this group is without a doubt DaRon Holmes. With that said, there are other high caliber prospects in this group who colleges should have on their radar.
2021 First Ranking: Top Wings and Fours
DaRon Holmes 6’7 SF/PF Millennium
Don’t let the position that he is listed at fool you. Holmes is capable of playing 2-5 at the high school level. He has a solid handle with good change of pace for his height and length. Further, he is a capable shooter. Defensively, he is a nightmare due to his length and athleticism. He is able to play an array of spots which makes him extremely versatile and a huge asset for Powerhouse and Millennium.
Kevin Kogbara Kevin Kogbara 6'6" | PF Skyline Prep | 2022 AZ 6’3 SF Peoria
Kogbara is a bigger body who can play on the wing and on the block. He is a good shooter with good footwork. The future is extremely bright at Peoria as Kogbara is apart of an extremely skilled group of youthful prospects coming through the program.
Jason Elder Jason Elder 6'6" | SF Phhoenix Prep | 2022 State AZ 6’5 SG/SF Cienega
Elder was mentioned in one of our other articles as a guard. He is one of the most versatile and intriguing prospects in this group. He is long and athletic. Further, he can get to the rim at will. Cienega should have huge plans for Elder going forward as he looks like he is the real deal.
Elijah Cole Elijah Cole 6'5" | SF Shadow Mountain | 2021 State AZ 6’3 SF Shadow Mountain
Cole has good length and athleticism. Despite limited opportunities at Shadow Mountain as a freshman, he demonstrated that he is a capable shooter from deep who can make an impact in an array of ways. He gets on the glass extremely well and has a really high upside.
Jake TenBerge Jake TenBerge 6'6" | SG Phhoenix Prep | 2022 State AZ 6’5 PF Chaparral
TenBerge is without a doubt one of the most fundamentally sound prospects in this class. He moves well without the basketball and gets his teammates better. He is constantly screening, cutting, and sealing. Further, he has a soft touch around the rim as well as good footwork on the block. He can also shoot it from behind the 3 point line.
2021 First Ranking: Wings and Fours Watch List
Grady Lewis Grady Lewis 6'7" | PF Sunnyslope | 2021 State AZ 6’6 PF Sunnyslope
Sunnyslope has demonstrated that they know what to do with bigs the past couple of years. To make it even more impressive, they have done it with undersized bigs. Lewis is not undersized and has good athleticism. He should be yet another solid big for Slope.
Alex Gaylor 6’6 PF Sunnyslope
Gaylor is in the same boat as Lewis in that he has a lot of upside and will be playing in a program where he will be well-coached. Few schools understand how to utilize backside seals and screens to post ups quite like Sunnyslope does. Gaylor has everything he needs to be a big time prospect.
Kyle Johnson Kyle Johnson 6'5" | PF AZ 6’4 PF Shadow Mountain
Johnson is a skilled 3/4 who can play the game at a high level. He had a hard time earning reps as a FR and will most likely struggle to get into the rotation this year as well due to the talent of the program. However, he is extremely skilled and has a high ceiling.
Marcus TenBerge 6’4 PF Chaparral
Marcus TenBerge is skilled and plays the game the right way similar to his brother. He is a little less polished, but he is still intriguing and a key part to the Firestorm’s success.
Duke Brennan Duke Brennan 6'10" | C Hillcrest Prep | 2022 State #219 Nation AZ 6’7 PF Perry
Brennan has good length and is best suited as a post player at this point. He has a decent motor and good footwork around the rim. If he is able to extend his game to the 3 point line and transition to more of a 3/4, his upside will go up greatly.
