Grand View Team Camp: Friday morning game recaps
South Hamilton 69, Pella 67
This thing was tight to the finish. Pella trailed for much of the game, but knotted things at 56 with under 6 minutes to play. The Hawks looked like they might pull away when senior Conner Hill ripped off six-straight points and they opened up to a five-point lead with under 3 minutes to play, but the Dutch responded with back-to-back 3s to lead 67-66 with 1:38 to play. Cole Berg, though, broke through with a bucket out of a timeout with 8 seconds to play to put the Hawks back up for good and claim victory.
Roland-Story 45, Chariton 37
The Norsemen edged out to an early lead and never let Chariton sniff a comeback throughout this one. Carter Greenfield and Kade Faga starred for Roland-Story with Greenfield attacking nearly every time down the floor and Faga connecting from distance. Chariton had a significant size advantage, but were unable to punish the Norse inside consistently.
Des Moines North 53, Fort Dodge 38
Even without Tyreke Locure, who was set to take his official visit to South Alabama later Saturday, Des Moines North had little trouble with the Dodgers. The Polar Bears got up big early and never relented. Their defense smothered Fort Dodge and their offense was just too much for the Dodgers to handle. Malik Allen showed off his range for North while Jordan Jackson was a bright spot for Fort Dodge.
