Prospect Spotlight: Kee’andre Smith (2019)
A 6’0 2019 guard, Topeka’s Kee’andre Smith is putting together a strong summer running with the Trojans’ varsity this summer, earning a key role with the squad and showing his all-around game at the KaMo Shootout in Overland Park.
“I would describe my game by saying I am a hustle player,” Smith says. “I have good defense not much of a scorer but will make a couple buckets if needed.”
Smith helped lead Topeka to an 18-7 season and a trip to the Class 6A state championships where the Trojans placed third overall.
“I was a key player on the defensive side and had to guard all the best players on the opposing team I never really came out the game,” Smith said.
Smith is spending the offseason competing for the Gauchos, a small travel team that has competed in several tournaments this spring.
“With my AAU team I have a different role and I do a lot of everything I can score with,” Smith says. “I’m working on just playing that way for my school being a defensive and offensive threat would open the game up for me.”
Smith says he is spending the offseason working on his outside shot and improving his all-around game.
“I am working on my jumper and my pull up so basically my offense and lets see where it leads me,” Smith said.
