Recruiting Report: Jaylen Williams (2020)
At 6’4”, 192 lbs., Jaylen Williams plays an all-around role at Liberty.
The Chargers lean on the 2019 guard/forward to handle the ball, score points inside and hit jumpers.
With three seniors graduating and a deep group of 2019 athletes, Williams will be the lead dog for Liberty. The Chargers finished 12-13 a year ago.
“I started becoming more confident in my pull up jump shot and my ability to score the ball,” Williams said about his junior campaign.
Williams is spending his first year with Raptors Elite 16U on the Adidas Gauntlet.
No offers have come yet for the rising senior, but he’s drawn interest from USF,
Kansas State, Stetson and Presbyterian.
Williams pointed to his biggest strength as his ability to impact the game from all over the court.
He says he wants to continue to become stronger and be a tenacious lockdown defender.
The glimpses are there with Williams, if he can shoot the ball consistently, he’ll increase his odds of earning more college looks. He’s got the athleticism, muscle and basketball IQ already.
