International Talent: Florida
Dejan Marjanac, Westminster Acad.
A 6-foot-10 post player from Serbia, Marjanac improved exponentially with his footwork, defensive tenacity, and outside shot. While he was a veritable non-factor on a star-spangled team featuring the high scoring of FGCU-commit Zach Scott (the program’s all time leading scorer), Sam Griffin, Chase Johnston, and high major target Dudley Blackwell, the Class of 2018 prospect certainly has a chance.
A post-graduate year would be instrumental in refining his post game and giving him more of an offensive tool-set. You can’t deny the physical gifts and his defensive effort.
Goran Milikovic, Westminster Acad.
The athletic, high-rising 7-foot incoming international transfer has the opportunity to be a transcendent talent under head coach Ehren Wallhoff.
Very similar to Montverde Academy star Balsa Koprivica, Milikovic has the mobility and a smooth, reliable 3-point stroke. He’s a polished open court finisher, frequently turning lob passes into violent double fist dunks. While his talent and how it translates to the American style remains to be seen, he’s got the attributes to be a very special player in South Florida this coming season.
Hal Hughes, SCS
From Sydney, Australia, the Hofstra-bound 6-foot-10 hybrid forward is cognizant of the fact that he’s never really going to be a banger. That being said, he’s capable of guarding smaller players and really defending the perimeter with length and instincts.
He’s got a European guard’s skill set where he can fire in from downtown and simultaneously exploit smaller defenders down to the post. He’s got an evolving turn around jumper and face-up game as well.
Selton Miguel, West Oaks Academy
As the high octane Class of 2020 guard prepares for the 18U National Team, plenty of programs are beginning to offer and inquire about the rugged 6-foot-2 guard. He’s adept at facilitating, changing speeds, and scoring the ball at all three levels. Of course, under head coach Kenny Gillion, 94 feet of thorough defensive pressure is enforced.
David Didenko, International
Now in Boca Raton for the summer, the 6-foot-9, 220-pound forward has a fluid jumper and sneaky athleticism. He can really read defenses and pull off nifty moves, scoring the ball at traffic.
He’s a matchup issue because of how well and consistently he can shoot the ball and navigate multiple defenders. Several Division-I programs, including North Florida and FAU, have already inquired about the Russian talent.
Matt Roseby, NTSI Orlando
The 6-foot-8 forward has a burgeoning back to the bucket game. He displayed a soft touch this season, making the mid-range game a livelihood.
His defense progressed tremendously. He also developed a better feel for reads and got after it on the glass significantly, especially during the stretch run of the 2017-18 campaign.
