SEBA Summer League: Tuesday Night Notes
The SEBA Summer League continued on Tuesday night at Jesuit High.
Results:
Jesuit 62, Sickles 40
Sickles 38, Bloomingdale 23
Jesuit 64, Bloomingdale 17
Here are the top performers.
Jack Cooper (Jesuit)
A 6’6″, 200-pound big man, Jack Cooper was consistent all night long. Cleaning misses up, rebounding, attacking and hitting from the mid-range, Cooper did it all for Jesuit. The 2019 forward is an inside workhorse for the Tigers and took advantage of the size difference against Bloomingdale and Sickles in the paint often.
Julian Canuelas (Sickles)
Sickles earned strong performances from 2019 point guard Julian Canuelas in both matchups. The 5’10” starter is a reliable ballhandler and point man. He’s a good outside shooter when given time, a vocal leader and a sneaky attacker.
Andrew Dansoh (Jesuit)
2019 forward Andrew Dansoh has come into his own a bit here this spring. A quiet and athletic wing, the 6’6″ forward is showing leadership and playing with a purpose as a starter. Dansoh was active on the boards and did his best on feeds inside.
Javohn Thomas (Sickles)
An athletic, communicative guard, Sickles athlete Javohn Thomas is figuring it all out. The 2022 guard plays with keen awareness offensively and shoots well from outside. He’s going to gain valuable varsity experience this season.
Ryan Weir (Jesuit)
Ryan Weir is a dangerous 3-point shooter. The 5’7″ guard is the younger brother of 2019 guard/forward Nick Weir, Ryan is fitting right into the Jesuit offense. The 2021 guard has the foot speed to create openings for himself.
