Presbyterian Team Camp Standouts
Dustin Kerns and staff at Presbyterian College put on a great team camp with some high-major hospitality and competition. Down in Clinton, South Carolina, there is not a lot to do but a bright spot for the small town is a solid basketball program that competes in the Big South and a coach that many people in coaching circles call one of the best in the business.
Here is a look at some of the top prospects from the camp over the past few days.
2019 Prospects
Russell Jones (Westwood HS)-Pound for pound there is not another guard in South Carolina that competes and gets it done the way Jones can do it. He is only about 5’7 but he plays so much bigger and is a team player, winner and leader. He can shoot it from deep, gets his teammates involved, can score with the ball in his hands or coming off of the ball. New Westwood HS Head Coach Ty Baumgardner comes into a situation that gives him an all-region level guard to run the team.
Tommy Bruner (Grays Collegiate Academy)-Bruner is a skilled lead guard that can put the ball in the basket, he is tough, good size at 6’1 and has a tight handle. He recently took an unofficial visit to Oklahoma State. He helped lead GCA to the SCHSL 2-A state title this past season.
Zeb Graham (Nations Ford)-The 6-foot-3 Graham is a bucket getter, has a good handle and can set things up for his big men. He is playing with Upward Stars SE on the Adidas Gauntlet this season. Has offer from Presbyterian.
Caleb Mills (Asheville Christian Academy)-One of the purest scorers I have seen this spring/summer. Has a great shot, can score off the dribble, has good size and length. Was recently offered by Cincinnati and is spending the summer running with PSB Elite.
Underclassmen Prospects
2021 RJ Felton (North Augusta, SC)-The 6-foot-2 prospect had some solid minutes for North Augusta HS, he is strong, chiseled frame, and knows he is as good as some are saying. Should be one to track for 2021 class.
2022 Perry Smith (North Augusta, SC)-6-foot-8 and not even in high school yet, Smith has all of the tolls to be one of the top players in the region over the next four years. Long arms, athletic, finished plays above the rim, blocks shots, great timing and a good rebounder.
