The No. 68 prospect in the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 200 has demonstrated an ability to showcase a multitude of skills on the court. The 6-foot-1 guard can drive, shoot, pass, defend, be the energy guy, and, well, whatever a coach asks of him.
It’s what has garnered him interest in a variety of schools, including Davenport, Manchester and Morehead State.
“Most teams want to keep me at guard and play same way I play here – get steals, get assists and do all the things like that,” Curry said.
With this interest, Curry has begun to start planning a timetable for his decision. He said he plans to take an official visit to Davenport in the near future and has been talking to other coaches regularly.
“They all think I can come in right away and make contributions to their team, and they keep calling me and talking to me about their facilities and academics and how close they are to home, which that’s good,” Curry.
He also may have an early favorite as he plans the official to Davenport. While he isn’t set on a future college, he did say Davenport was the “only one I’ve really been considering right now.”
Still, with an entire season ahead, Curry hopes to continue to improve his dribbling with his right hand and his ability to attack the basket. He is also doing this as he adjusts to being a leader and number one option for Homestead after being one piece of last year’s state championship team that included current Purdue freshman Caleb Swanigan.
“You know, it’s just as fun as last year because we still have the same goals as last year,” Curry said. “It’s a different team, think we can still make it with good talent, good players. … I’m looking forward to this season a lot.”
