Prospect Spotlight: Gray Davidson (2019 The Northwest School)
The spring has required a bit of catchup time for Gray Davidson. The solid 6-foot-5, 180-pound wing from The Northwest School didn’t join his Washington Supreme team until after the AAU circuit started, so the rising senior is hoping to make up for lost time in July.
“I started late as I was injured, so I didn’t start playing until mid-May,” Davidson said. “But my three point shot was falling and I was attacking on the wing. I’ve been working on my ball-handling so I can be more of a point guard.”
Davidson recently played at the Rose City Showcase and showed off a nice touch from the perimeter to go along with good size on the wing. Shooting is always desired at the college level and Davidson is looking for a good blend of athletics and academics.
“I’m looking for a small D-I or a D-III school with good academics,” Davidson said. “I’d like to stay on the West coast but I’ll go anywhere.”
Since he still remains a bit of a mystery to schools due to the late start, he’s hoping a big July with Washington Supreme will help get his college recruitment going. “I’m going to try and play well in Las Vegas and all the big tournaments,” Davidson said. “Hopefully I can get more exposure.”
