2020 Top Performers : Manning Monarchs Shootout
Prep Hoops takes a look at some of the very promising underclassmen here today from the 2020 class.
Quentin Hodge – Lakewood HS
Hodge was quite impressive today for the Gators. Hodge (2020) really excelled last season as a wide receiver on the football field for the Gators. Hodge will play this summer with Team South Carolina and Head coach Lamont Simmons. Hodge was really active today attacking the basket and getting several deflections in the lane.
Zyan Gilmore – Clarendon Hall (Summerton)
Gilmore is Mr.Clutch and always wants the ball in his hands the last seconds of the game. Gilmore hit a game winner today at the buzzer and it’s not the first time we have seen him do that. Gilmore piled up numbers last season for the Saints where he averaged 28.4 ppg. I don’t expect to see the numbers as high this season with the addition of Traveon Davis to the roster.
Traveon Davis – Clarendon Hall (Summerton)
Davis comes over to the Saints from nearby Lake Marion HS (Santee). Davis a athletic wing plays with Upward Stars Southeast 2020 on the AAU circuit. Davis has three point shooting range along with the ability to really attack the basket. Davis is quite athletic and should be able to excel this season in Saints Head Coach Anthony Reitenour up-tempo style offense.
Samuel Gray – Wade Hampton HS (Hampton) (pictured on front)
Gray is just solid from the point guard spot for the Red Devils. Gray helped his squad get to the Lower State Championship Game this past season. Gray 6’0 left-handed point guard has great body control while slashing to the basket. Gray plays for his father Romon Gray on his high school team and doesn’t play any AAU basketball.
Ahmad Brown – Ashley Ridge HS (Summerville)
Brown could look to have a breakout season for the Swamp Foxes. Brown plays the game so active on both ends of the floor. Brown 6’5 left-handed forward was all over the glass and finishing everything in the paint today. Brown we first saw back in the spring running AAU with TMP 16U. Brown runs the floor very well and is a extremely quick leaper.
