Prospect Spotlight: Jordan Millspaugh (2019)
Jordan Millspaugh is coming to Kansas. A top 100 player in the state of Texas is coming from Covenant Christian Academy in Colleyville, TX to take a prep year at Sunrise Christian Academy in Kansas.
Covenant Christian played in the TAPPS 4-A division and made the final four in the state tournament Jordan’s sophomore and senior years.
Jordan is a 6’5” 180 pound skilled wing who is taking a postgrad year to get bigger and stronger, which was the biggest feedback he got last year during the recruiting process.
Jordan takes pride in doing the little things right, plays hard, and is a good two-way player. He can take the ball to the basket or step out and hit the three although that’s a thing that Jordan wants to get more consistent at.
His high school career was a decorated one, finishing with all district, all state, all state tournament team honors, as well as the offensive player of the year in his school’s respective division.
Jordan had two offers when he announced he was going to reclassify to the class of 2019, one from Ohio Valley University and another from Leigh McCray, both division II schools.
This summer, Jordan is playing with A-Game Athletes this summer and says the AAU season is going well although sidelined with an ankle injury for six weeks.
His intangibles have continued to show through and he’s been effective getting blocks as a help defender and offensively getting into the lane allowing him to be a facilitator as well.
Academically, Jordan just re-took the ACT but received a 26 on it previously, paired with his 3.54 cumulative GPA, it’s fair to say he is looking for a school that can challenge him academically as well. He would like to go to a school with a strong business/marketing program next year.
His biggest inspiration on the court has been Dirk Nowitzki, not only because he was raised in the Dallas area but because of what he did to change the landscape of the game for big men. Jordan also admires his mental toughness, as Dirk had to overcome adversity early in his career.
Jordan will be someone to keep your eye on this season as he continues to get bigger, faster, and stronger.
