Prospect Profile: Kamron Robinson (2021 Jefferson HS/Rose City Rebels 15U)
Kamron Robinson is simply having a great time. The strong 6-foot-7, 250-pound post from Jefferson High School is playing this spring with the 15U squad of the Rose City Rebels and ran with the team on the EYBL 15U circuit.
“We got a couple of Ws and the sessions were fun,” Robinson said. “I have good teammates and it was a fun time. I felt like I did good. I’ve been trying to stretch my game out and be more versatile. I’m trying to show my coaches that I can dribble and shoot.”
Take one look at Robinson and his sheer size indicates that he brings a lot of heft down in the paint. But watch him play and you can tell that he has soft hands and has the potential to develop some good post moves. Because of his size he was called up to the 17U team to play in the finals of the Rose City Showcase where he got a couple of spot minutes of duty.
Robinson played this past season on the freshman team at Jefferson. But while he’s aiming to play varsity this year, he does have his eyes on playing at the college level as well. “I really want to play for USC,” Robinson said. “They have a lot of great alumni and I like the coaches a lot there too. But I don’t know yet, it’s still early.”
There’s still a lot of basketball to be played for the big man. Next up will be rejoining his 15U teammates on the AAU circuit in July. “I just want to have a big summer and show college coaches what I can do,” he said.
